The Thunder had fallen behind early but then had a good second quarter to take a lead into halftime. Kevin Martin had a great night off the bench for the Thunder, as he scored 28 points, including six 3-pointers. Kevin Durant added 22 points, and Russell Westbrook and Serge Ibaka had fourteen points for the Thunder. It wasn't a very good night for Westbrook or Durant, as they went a combined 12 for 35 from the field. The Thunder also turned the ball over twenty times. They are 1-2 on the year now.
The Hawks started the night off quick scoring 30 points in the first quarter. They scored 29 in the fourth quarter then to complete the comeback. Al Horford powered the Hawks tonight, scoring 23 points and pulling down twelve rebounds to lead the team in both categories. It will be nice for Atlanta to have Horford back after he missed all but eleven games last season. Lou Williams added nineteen points off the bench, Jeff Teague had sixteen and Ivan Johnson had ten points in his first game of the year. The Hawks are now 1-1 this season.
Atlanta doesn't play again till Wednesday when they return home to play the Indiana Pacers. The Pacers are 2-1 so far and will play the San Antonio Spurs on Monday before traveling to Atlanta. The Hawks will hope to have star forward Josh Smith back Wednesday, he missed the game against the Thunder with a sprained ankle. The game will be at 7:30 p.m.
