Hawks Top Wizards Again

The Atlanta Hawks beat the Washington Wizards at home again for the second time in less than a month Friday night. This time the game wasn't as close, and didn't require a last second shot, as the final score was 104-95.
The Wizards could not build off of their last win, which came against the defending champion Miami Heat. They got close a few times late in the game, cutting the Hawks lead to two twice, but couldn't quite get out front. Kevin Seraphin led the Wizards with nineteen points, Bradley Beal had eighteen, Jordan Crawford scored fourteen and Nene added twelve points. The Wizards fall to 2-14 on the year.
The Hawks built a big lead and were winning 31-19 after the first quarter. They never trailed after overtaking the Wizards 10-9 early in the game. Al Horford and Josh Smith once again led the Hawks, they both posted double-doubles. Smith led the Hawks with 23 points and fifteen rebounds, while Horford scored fourteen points and pulled down fourteen rebounds.
The Hawks had five players score in double-figures. Jeff Teague scored nineteen points, Devin Harris and DeShawn Stevenson scored fifteen apiece, all of Stevenson's points came on three pointers. Kyle Korver missed his third straight game with an ailing back.
The Hawks move to 11-5 on the year. They have the third best record in the Eastern Conference behind the Heat and the New York Knicks. They will travel to take on the Memphis Grizzlies tomorrow night at 8 p.m. The Grizzlies own the NBA's best record at 14-3.

DeShawn Stevenson shoots a three-pointer, he hit five shots from beyond the arc on Friday night to help the Hawks beat the Washington Wizards, 104-95.
