Blazers Defeat Hawks

The Portland Trail Blazers came to Atlanta needing a win. They accomplished that feat with a big fourth quarter which led them to a 104-93 victory on Friday night.
The Blazers and Hawks were keeping it close in the beginning as they were tied 45-45 at the half. After the Hawks outscored them in the third quarter, the Blazers roared back and outscored the Hawks in the fourth quarter 31-17. That big quarter propelled them to the victory. Wesley Matthews led the team with 28 points. Damian Lillard was next with 22 points, followed by LaMarcus Aldridge who had 20 points and led the team with thirteen rebounds. J.J. Hickson also had a double-double with fifteen points and ten rebounds. The Blazers are now 33-36 on the year and are on a two-game winning streak.
The Hawks just didn't have enough left in the tank to pull out the win. They played well through three quarters and then just faltered off, especially on defense. They shot 44 percent from the field, but only hit 29 percent of their three-point attempts.
Josh Smith led the Hawks with 24 points, he also added ten rebounds. Jeff Teague was next with 21 points, while Al Horford was the only other Hawks to score in double figures, he had fifteen. Horford also pulled down seventeen rebounds to lead the Hawks, it was his 40th double-double of the season. Zaza Pachulia missed the game, he is still out with his injury.
The Hawks are now 38-31 on the year. Their next game will be on Sunday in Milwaukee as they take on the Bucks at 3 p.m. The Bucks are 34-34 on the year and just lost to the Hawks this past Wednesday.
