Braves Lose to Nationals

The Atlanta Braves lost to the Washington Nationals on Sunday, 9-3. The game was played under very poor and windy conditions and eventually was called due to rain after eight innings.
The Braves had six hits for their three runs in the loss. Dan Uggla, Tyler Pastornicky and Juan Francisco drove in the three runs for the Braves. Chris Johnson, Ramiro Pena, Jason Heyward and Andrelton Simmons all added hits for Atlanta.
Pitching wise, Kris Medlen was rocked for six runs on eight hits, including a home run, in five innings. He finishes the spring with a 1-2 record. He also hardly resembles the pitcher that completely dominated the second half last season. Luis Avilan pitched the sixth inning and gave up a run on two hits. David Carpenter pitched the seventh inning and gave up two runs on two hits, including a homer.
The Braves are now 18-13 on the spring. They will play again tomorrow against the New York Mets at 1:05 p.m. Mike Minor will be making his final start of spring training.
