Today will be the beginning of recaps for linebackers on the Falcons. The first one will be over Akeem Dent.
Dent is a two-year pro out of the University of Georgia, and a hometown boy from Atlanta. Dent was mainly a special teams player in his rookie season, but in 2012 he took over for the departed Curtis Lofton. He set a career-high in tackles with 64 but he didn't have any sacks.
Dent should be the starting middle linebacker again in 2013. The Falcons will probably expect more of him though, especially tackling. He had about 50 less tackles than what Lofton produced on average for a season.
