Falcons' Player Recap: Asante Samuel

The next Falcons' player recap will cover corner back Asante Samuel.
Samuel is a ten-year veteran out of the University of Central Florida. He started his career with the New England Patriots before being traded to the Philadelphia Eagles. The Falcons acquired him in a trade with the Eagles before the 2012 season. Samuel had a decent first year with Atlanta, he did struggled with some minor injuries throughout the season though. He had 36 tackles, the most he has had since the 2009 season, and he had five interceptions, one which he returned for a touchdown, the sixth time he had done that in his career. He has 50 interceptions in his career.
Samuel will be back in Atlanta next season. He will be anchoring the corner back position, which has a cloudy future now. With Dunta Robinson and Christopher Owens gone, and Brent Grimes probably leaving too, the Falcons only have Samuel and Robert McClain left from the main group of last season's corner backs.
