Today's Falcons' player recap will be over punter Matt Bosher. It is also the beginning of coverage of special teams' players. That will last for the next three days and then the Falcons' recaps of last season will be finished.
Bosher is a two-year player out of Miami University. When the Falcons drafted him before the 2011 season, his job was the replace Michael Koenen, who is one of the better punters in the NFL. He struggled at first in his rookie season, but settled down and he has become a good punter himself. Last year he had 60 punts, they went for an average of 47 yards per punt, five yards better than his rookie year. His longest punt went for 63 yards. He also pinned the opponent behind the 20 yard line 22 times.
Bosher will be the Falcons' punter again next year. He will only get better as he continues to increase his leg strength and as he gets more acclimated to punting in the NFL.
