Falcons Sign Osi Umenyiora

The Atlanta Falcons found a replacement for John Abraham on Wednesday. They agreed to terms with defensive end Osi Umenyiora on a two-year contract, worth $8.5 million.
Umenyiora gives the Falcons a slightly younger defensive end, Abraham was 34 and Umenyiora is 31. He has been a big part of the New York Giants' defense since 2003 when he was drafted out of Troy. He helped lead the Giants to two Super Bowl titles in the nine years he spent there. He set career-highs in tackles with 71 and sacks with fourteen and a half back in 2005. Overall for his career he had 376 tackles and 75.5 sacks. He will pair with Kroy Biermann to give the Falcons two fast pass rushers for at least the next two years.
