Gonzalez to Play One More Year

The Falcons and tight end Tony Gonzalez announced that he will return to the team in 2013. After saying all year in 2012 that he was going to retire, Gonzalez surprised the Falcons and their fans with the announcement.
Even though Gonzalez has been around since 1997, he was still on top of his game last year and was near the top of every statistical category for tight ends in the NFL. He had 93 receptions for 930 yards to go along with eight touchdowns. For his career he had caught 1242 passes for 14,268 yards and 103 touchdowns.
Also, the Falcons announced they had re-signed offensive lineman Sam Baker to a six-year deal. Re-signing Baker was key with him being one of the top lineman on the team last season for Atlanta and with the almost definite retirement of center Todd McClure.
