The Celtics had the lead throughout most of the game. In the fourth quarter, they had a twelve point lead that they blew late as the Hawks forced overtime. The Celtics got big shots from Jason Terry, Paul Pierce and Jeff Green in OT which helped them clinch the victory. Pierce led Boston with 27 points, while Terry added nineteen off the bench. Kevin Garnett had seventeen and Green added twelve points off the bench. Boston is now 34-27 on the year and they have won five games in a row.
The Hawks did a great job fighting back and forcing overtime. They were even taking control of the overtime until their cold streak started. The Hawks didn't score a field goal over the final 2:14 which caused them to lose. Al Horford did have another monster game, he scored 22 points and pulled down thirteen rebounds for the double-double. Four players scored in double figures while only three more people scored for the Hawks.
Josh Smith led everyone in the game with 32 points. Jeff Teague was next with 26 points, followed by Horford, who was then followed by Devin Harris who had twelve points in the loss. Ivan Johnson, DeShawn Stevenson and Zaza Pachulia all didn't play in the game.
The Hawks are now 34-27 on the year. Their next game will be tomorrow night against the Brooklyn Nets at Philips Arena at 7 p.m. The Nets are currently 36-26 on the season and have won two in a row.
