The Nets took a fourteen point lead at the half and easily cruised the rest of the way. Andray Blatche came off the bench to score eighteen points to tie Brook Lopez for the team lead in the game. Deron Williams added seventeen points as they were the only three players to score in double figures. Former Hawk Joe Johnson hit only four of his thirteen shots for a meager eight points. The Nets have won three games in a row and are 37-26 on the year.
The Hawks started off the game quick by taking an 11-1 lead. They let the Nets slowly chip their way back into the game before totally blowing it in the second quarter. Then the Hawks showed a little life in the fourth quarter, but it just wasn't enough to get themselves back into the game completely. Most of the fourth quarter was played by the reserves.
Al Horford had yet another double-double leading the Hawks with fifteen points and twelve rebounds. Josh Smith was second in scoring with twelve points, while John Jenkins added ten off the bench. Johan Petro also scored ten points, all in the first quarter, but he didn't take another shot for the rest of the game. Zaza Pachulia missed yet another game with his sore Achilles, it was the fourth straight game he has missed and the tenth out of the past 21 games.
The Hawks are now 34-28 on the season and have lost two in a row. Their next game will be on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in Miami against the Heat. The Heat are unstoppable right now. Not only have they beaten the Hawks all three times they have faced them this year, but they are on an eighteen game winning streak. They have a 47-14 record overall.
Johan Petro takes a rebound away from Brook Lopez of the Brooklyn Nets. Petro scored ten points for the Hawks in their 93-80 loss.
