Braves Beat Futures

The Atlanta Braves played the Future Stars of Atlanta on Saturday afternoon and beat them 10-0.
The Braves' offense had twelve hits as they scored their ten runs. Dan Uggla hit a three-run home run and went two for three at the plate, which is an encouraging sign for him. Chris Johnson added a solo home run. Evan Gattis also hit a home run, one of the longest ever seen at the Double-A Mississippi Braves' home. It went completely out of the park and landed in a parking lot beyond left field. The Braves got other hits and runs from players like Jason Heyward, Andrelton Simmons and Freddie Freeman. The Braves offense had a great spring as they led National League teams in hits with 344 and in homers with 49.
Mike Minor got the start and picked up the victory. He gave up singles to the first two batters of the game but was perfect after that as he pitched four scoreless innings. Craig Kimbrel, Eric O'Flaherty, Jordan Walden, Luis Avilan and Anthony Varvaro all pitched a scoreless inning each in relief.
The Braves next game will be Opening Day on Monday when they take on the Philadelphia Phillies at 7 p.m. Tim Hudson will make the start against the Phillies' Cole Hamels.
