The Braves' offense had six hits while scoring their four runs in the game. Evan Gattis was the only player on both teams with more than one hit as he had three singles in the game. Justin Upton hit a home run in the first inning, his third of the season, and added a sacrifice fly in the third inning. Juan Francisco also had a big hit, a two-run single in the bottom of the fifth inning. Freddie Freeman also had a hit for the Braves.
Minor was fantastic in his seven and a third innings pitched. He gave up one run, on a solo homer to the Cubs' Scott Hairston, and five hits but he did strike out seven Cubs' batters. He got the win and is 1-0 on the year. Eric O'Flaherty pitched a perfect two-thirds of an inning to replace Minor and Craig Kimbrel pitched a perfect ninth to pick up his second save of the young season.
The Braves are now 3-1 on the year and will continue their three-game series against the Cubs tomorrow night at 7:10 p.m. Julio Teheran will make his first start of the year against the Cubs' Carlos Villanueva.

Mike Minor pitched seven and a third innings to pick up the win and help the Braves win 4-1 over the Chicago Cubs on Friday night.
