Winning Streak Over as Braves Lose

The Atlanta Braves came out on the wrong end of a 1-0 game and the Kansas City Royals won and ended the Braves ten-game winning streak.
The Braves' offense collected six hits in the game. Juan Francisco led the team with two hits. Chris Johnson and Jason Heyward both hit doubles, Justin Upton and Ramiro Pena also had hits for Atlanta. The offense struck out eleven times in the game, Upton and Dan Uggla both had the most with two.
The offense also wasted a stellar pitching effort by Mike Minor. He pitched six innings and gave up one run on five hits. The one run he gave up came off the bat of former Brave star Jeff Francoeur, it was an RBI single. He also struck out five batters and suffered the loss, he is now 2-1 on the year. Luis Ayala pitched the seventh and eighth innings, he was perfect and struck out two batters. Cory Gearrin pitched the ninth inning and gave up two hits and struck out a batter.
The Braves are now 12-2 on the year. They will travel to Pittsburgh and start a four-game series with the Pirates tomorrow at 7:05 p.m. Julio Teheran (0-0) will start for Atlanta against former Braves prospect Jeff Locke (1-1).

Mike Minor pitched six innings and only gave up one run, but he didn't receive any run support as the Braves lost 1-0.
