The Atlanta Hawks held off a late Pacers rally and beat Indiana 102-91 on Monday night to even the best-of-seven series at two games a piece.
The Pacers were outscored big by the Hawks in the second quarter. They came out strong after halftime though and outscored Atlanta 22-12 in the third quarter. Unfortunately for them it wasn't enough, plus they only shot 38 percent from the field as a team. Paul George led the Pacers with 21 points and he also had twelve rebounds to lead the team. After halftime the Pacers started to fight back but Atlanta held off that rally to win the game and even the series. The Hawks shot 44 percent from the field as a team.
Josh Smith had 29 points to lead the Hawks, that is a new career playoff-high for him. He also pulled down eleven rebounds to lead the team. Kyle Korver was next in scoring for the Hawks, he had nineteen points off the bench. He was followed by Al Horford with eighteen and Jeff Teague, who had thirteen points. John Jenkins, Mike Scott, Dahntay Jones and Shelvin Mack didn't play in the game for Atlanta.
The Hawks and Pacers will travel back to Indiana for game five. That game will be on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. and both teams will be trying to take a 3-2 lead in the Eastern Conference series.
