Horford is a six-year pro forward out of Florida. He has spent his whole career with the Hawks. After missing most of the 2011-2012 season, Horford returned and produced his best season yet in the NBA in 2012-2013. He only missed eight games this year as he played in 74 of the Hawks' 82 games.
He set career-highs in points per game and rebounds per game this past season, he averaged 17.4 points and game and 10.2 rebounds a game. He also averaged 3.2 assists a game. He finished the year with a career-high 1289 points scored, pulled down 757 rebounds, dished out 240 assists and had 78 blocks. He also recorded 42 double-doubles over the course of the season. His best game of the season came on February 27th in Utah against the Jazz. He scored a career-high 34 points and pulled down fifteen rebounds and had five blocked shots in the Hawks' 102-91 victory.
Horford is one of three Hawks with a guaranteed contract for next season. He will definitely be a leader on the team but he might also take over as the face of the franchise if Josh Smith leaves in free agency, which is most likely to happen. Look for Horford to step up next year and have another great season as he leads the Hawks.
Al Horford has become one of the Hawks' biggest stars since he entered the NBA with them back in 2007, he had the best year of his career this past season.
