Jones is a nine-year veteran guard out of Duke. In his career he has been a main part of many teams' benches, including the Memphis Grizzlies, Sacramento Kings, Denver Nuggets, Indiana Pacers, Dallas Mavericks and the Hawks. He came to the Hawks at the trade deadline this past season for Anthony Morrow.
Jones played in 28 games for the Hawks after the trade deadline. He averaged 3.1 points per game. He also finished with 88 points, 31 rebounds and 20 assists while with Atlanta. For the season combined with Dallas he had 262 points, 101 rebounds and 48 assists. His best game with the Hawks came on March 17th in a 105-93 victory over the Brooklyn Nets. Jones hit six of his seven shots in the game and finished with thirteen points.
Jones is a free agent this off season. He might return to the Hawks to serve as a body off the bench. He is older though, so look for the Hawks to go another way and look for Jones to sign on somewhere else.
Dahntay Jones didn't spend much time in an Atlanta uniform and wasn't a big factor down the stretch for them either.
