The offense had eleven hits while scoring their six runs. McCann had a big night with three hits, including his first home run of the year, and he also drove in three runs. Juan Francisco added two hits for Atlanta. Andrelton Simmons, Freddie Freeman and B.J. Upton each had a hit and an RBI in the game. Dan Uggla, Jordan Schafer and Justin Upton all added a hit apiece for the Braves.
Teheran struggled and gave up three runs in the first three innings, all driven in by the Giants' Buster Posey, including a two-run homer. He then settled down and ended up pitching seven innings while giving up the three runs on seven hits. He earned the victory and is now 2-0 on the year. Eric O'Flaherty pitched a perfect eighth inning and struck out a batter. Craig Kimbrel came in for the ninth inning and picked up his eleventh save of the year. The save was also the 100th of his young career.
The Braves are now 21-13 on the year and they will continue their four-game series with the Giants tomorrow night at 10:15 p.m. Tim Hudson (4-1) will look to continue his recent run of success, he will face Matt Cain (1-2) of the Giants.
