The Braves lost a battle with the Nationals on Friday night, 3-2.
The offense had four hits in the loss. Freddie Freeman provided all of the offense with a solo home run in the second which was his fifth of the year. He also had an RBI single in the seventh inning. Ramiro Pena had the other two hits for the Braves and he scored on Freeman's single. The Braves did strike out ten times in the game.
Julio Teheran did fairly well in the game. He pitched six and two-thirds innings and gave up three runs on seven hits. He did strike out nine but suffered the loss and is now 3-2 on the year. Anthony Varvaro pitched a perfect inning in relief. Luis Avilan got the one batter out that he faced on two pitches. Cory Gearrin pitched a perfect ninth inning to help the bullpen keep Washington in check for the whole game.
The Braves are now 32-22 on the year, they will continue their series with the Nationals tomorrow night at 7:10 p.m. Tim Hudson (4-4) will start for the Braves against Gio Gonzalez (3-3) for Washington.
