Mets Beat Braves Again

The New York Mets held on to defeat the Braves 4-3 on Thursday night and they took three out of the five games in the series.
The Braves had a barrage of thirteen hits in the game but they couldn't produce any runs after the third inning. Tyler Pastornicky, who started in place of Dan Uggla, had three hits in the game, Gerald Laird also had three hits and an RBI in the loss. Justin Upton added two hits and an RBI, Jason Heyward and Freddie Freeman each added two hits also. Chris Johnson had an RBI single but had a horrible game in the field as he committed three errors on defense.
Mike Minor was on the mound for Atlanta and the Braves staked him to a two-run lead but he gave that up by giving up three home runs to the Mets, including two to David Wright. Minor ended up pitching six innings and gave up four runs on nine hits. He struck out six batters as he suffered the loss and his record fell to 8-3 on the year. Jordan Walden pitched two scoreless innings in relief and struck out three batters, Luis Avilan also pitched a scoreless inning in relief.
The Braves are now 43-31 on the year. They will travel to Milwaukee to play the Brewers for three games beginning tomorrow night at 8:10 p.m. Julio Teheran (5-3) will take the mound in game one of the series and will face Wily Peralta (4-8) for the Brewers.
