Hawks' Draft Recap

The Atlanta Hawks drafted more foreign players than anything in the draft and traded most of their original picks away for other players. But they ended up with a few players that could help them now, but mostly for the future.
One player they got in one of their trades was guard Jared Cunningham, who was drafted in the first round in last year's draft and spent this past season with the Dallas Mavericks. He appeared in only eight games and scored sixteen points, but the Hawks could use him as another young guy to come off the bench and pair with John Jenkins.
The three picks the Hawks ended up with are Mike Muscala, Lucas Nogueira and Dennis Schroeder. Muscala is a center out of Bucknell, he might have an impact this season coming off the bench to replace Horford. Nogueira is what the Hawks are hoping to be a long-term solution at center. He probably won't factor much into this season but the Hawks are hoping he can be the center the following season so Al Horford can finally move to the power forward position. Schroeder could potentially be the future at point guard. Playing in Germany he has showed he is good at the position, he just might need time to fully grasp American style, which means he might not make a full impact till next season.

Jared Cunningham throws down a dunk at Philips Arena in a preseason game last year, he now joins the Hawks and hopes to help off the bench next season.
