Hawks Sign Brand

The Atlanta Hawks made a move to help out their front court by signing free agent Elton Brand away from the Dallas Mavericks.
Brand spent last season as his lone season with Dallas. He has also played for the Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Clippers and Philadelphia 76ers in his career. His best season came in 2005-2006 with the Clippers when he averaged 24.7 points and ten rebounds a game. Last year in 72 games with Dallas, Brand averaged career-lows with 7.2 points and six rebounds a game. His season totals were 518 points and 430 rebounds. The Hawks plan to use Brand as a backup to starting center Al Horford and starting power forward Paul Millsap.
