Bengals Shred Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons didn't look well to begin the preseason schedule and the final outcome didn't turn out so well either as Atlanta lost to the Cincinnati Bengals 34-10.
Atlanta only managed 268 yards of offense in the game. They started off the game the right way by driving down field on their first drive and getting a 37-yard field goal from Matt Bryant. They only other points they produced was in the beginning of the third quarter when quarterback Dominique Davis threw an 8-yard pass to Jason Snelling. For the offense, Matt Ryan completed six of his nine passes for 89 yards to lead the quarterbacks. Ronnie Wingo rushed for 29 yards to lead the running backs and Drew Davis had two receptions for 53 yards to lead the receivers. Jonathan Massaquoi recorded a sack for the defense in the loss.
The offensive line struggled to stop Cincinnati's rushing attack and the reserves on defense were run over by the Bengals' offense. Cincinnati produced 434 yards of offense, almost 200 more yards than the Falcons. Bengals' backup quarterback Josh Johnson had a big night, completing nine of his sixteen passes for 100 yards and a touchdown, he also rushed for 64 yards on four carries. Receiver Dane Sanzenbacher also had a big night for Cincinnati, he had two receptions for 59 yards and a touchdown, he also returned a punt 71 yards for a touchdown.
The Falcons are now 0-1 on the preseason. Their next game will be next Thursday against the defending Super Bowl Champion Baltimore Ravens in Baltimore at 7:30 p.m. The Ravens defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their first preseason game on Thursday night by a score of 44-16.
