Braves Acquire Scott Downs

The Atlanta Braves announced today that they have acquired reliever Scott Downs from the Los Angeles Angels in exchange for Minor League reliever Cory Rasmus.
With the addition of Downs, the Braves now have another experienced left-handed reliever in their bullpen. He has been around since 2000 when he came up with the Chicago Cubs. He has also pitched for the Montreal Expos, Toronto Blue Jays and the Angels. He has had some really good seasons in the Major Leagues, in 81 games in 2007 he had a 2.17 ERA for the Blue Jays. Then the very next year he post a 1.78 ERA in 66 games for Toronto. He had his lowest ERA though in 2011 with the Angels as he appeared in 60 games and had a 1.34 ERA. So far this year for the Angels he has appeared in 43 games and is 2-3 with a 1.84 ERA. Rasmus had an 8.10 ERA in three appearances with the Braves this year, other than that he has spent the rest of the season in Gwinnett.
