Braves Shutout by Marlins

The Atlanta Braves continued their winning streak and won their fourteenth game in a row by beating the Miami Marlins 5-0 on Friday night.
The offense had seven hits on the night, three of the hits were home runs. Chris Johnson had the biggest shot, a three-run jack for his eighth home run of the year. Brian McCann and Jason Heyward led the Braves with two hits apiece. McCann also had one of the homers, a solo shot for his seventeenth of the season. Justin Upton also hit a home run, a solo drive for his 22nd of the year. Freddie Freeman also had a hit in the victory.
Brandon Beachy had his best start yet since returning from Tommy John surgery and earned his first victory of the season. He ended up pitching eight innings and gave up three hits and struck out six. Scott Downs and Luis Ayala combined for the final three outs in the ninth inning.
The Braves are now 71-45 on the year and they will continue their three-game series with the Marlins tomorrow night at 7:10 p.m. Alex Wood (2-2) will take the mound for the Braves while Nathan Eovaldi (2-2) will start for Miami.
