The Braves had another big night at the plate with fifteen hits in the game. Freddie Freeman led the team with four hits, he also drove in two runs and scored two runs. Justin Upton contributed with three hits and scored a run. Evan Gattis, Chris Johnson and Andrelton Simmons each added two hits, Gattis and Johnson each drove in a run. Brian McCann had another big hit, a three-run homer in the third inning, it was his fifteenth of the season. Mike Minor helped himself out at the plate with an RBI single, Jason Heyward also drove in a run in the victory.
Minor also had a good night on the mound as he picked up the win and moved his record to 11-5 on the year. He ended up pitching seven innings and only gave up two hits while striking out six. Luis Ayala ended up pitching the final two innings of the game, he struck out two over that span.
The Braves are now 63-45 on the year and they will finish their series with the Rockies tomorrow night at 7:10 p.m. Julio Teheran (7-5) will start the finale against Chad Bettis (0-0) who will make his Major League debut for Colorado.
Mike Minor pitched seven shutout innings and even drove in a run in the Braves' 9-0 win on Wednesday night.
