Braves Sweep Indians

The Atlanta Braves completed a three-game sweep of the Cleveland Indians on Thursday night winning 3-1.
The Braves had eight hits in the game. Brian McCann had two hits, but his three-run homer provided all the offense the Braves would need to win. It was McCann's nineteenth homer of the season. Justin Upton and Andrelton Simmons also added two hits in the game, Upton was later hit in the hand by a pitch and had to leave the game, he is day-to-day with the injury. Chris Johnson and B.J. Upton each added a hit in the victory.
Kris Medlen was fantastic in the victory and improved his record to 11-12 on the year. He pitched seven innings and gave up no runs on six hits while striking out six. David Carpenter pitched the eighth inning and gave up a solo homer to Lonnie Chisenhall but was perfect other than that. Craig Kimbrel came out to pitch a perfect ninth inning to earn his 43rd save of the season.
The Braves are now 81-52 on the year. They will begin a three-game series with the Miami Marlins starting tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m. Julio Teheran (10-7) will start for the Braves against Jose Fernandez (10-5) for the Marlins.
