The Braves gathered seven hits in the loss. Dan Uggla had two hits to lead the Braves. Andrelton Simmons provided the only run when he hit a solo shot to lead off the game, it was his tenth home run of the year. Jason Heyward, Brian McCann, Evan Gattis and Chris Johnson all had a hit apiece in the game.
Kris Medlen started the game and did well before falling apart in the sixth inning. He ended up going five and a third innings giving up four runs on seven hits. He also struck out four in the game and his record fell to 6-10 on the year. David Carpenter pitched an inning and two-thirds and gave up a hit and struck out one. Kameron Loe made his Braves' debut and pitched a scoreless eighth inning.
The Braves are now 56-44 on the year and they will continue their series with the Mets tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. Tim Hudson (7-7) will make the start for Atlanta against Jeremy Hefner (4-7) of the Mets.
