Braves Re-sign Janish

The Atlanta Braves re-signed shortstop Paul Janish to a one-year contract worth a little less than a million dollars.
The move was apparently made awhile ago but the Braves just announced it. The deal helps the Braves and Janish to avoid arbitration. He will be the primary backup to starting shortstop Andrelton Simmons. He could also be used as a late-game substitution for Dan Uggla at second base and at third base for defensive reasons.
Last year, he appeared in 55 games for the Braves, replacing Simmons while he was on the disabled list. He hit .186 with no home runs and nine RBI's before dislocating his shoulder on September 18th and missing the rest of the year. He will be ready when spring training starts.
