The Braves had sixteen hits in the victory. Evan Gattis and Ramiro Pena led the Braves with three hits apiece, Pena also led the Braves with four RBI's in the win. Freddie Freeman, Brian McCann and Jordan Schafer also had two hits apiece for Atlanta. Freeman hit his fourth home run in the game, Schafer also drove in two runs. Reed Johnson hit a two-run pinch hit homer in the eighth inning for his first of the year. Andrelton Simmons had a hit and an RBI and Justin Upton and Chris Johnson also had a hit apiece.
Mike Minor had another good outing as he pitched seven innings and gave up three runs, only two earned, on six hits. He also struck out five batters and improved his record to 7-2 on the season. Jordan Walden pitched a perfect eighth inning and Alex Wood made his major league debut and pitched a perfect ninth to finish out the game.
The Braves are now 32-21 on the year. They will begin a three-game series with the Washington Nationals tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m. Julio Teheran (3-1) will start game one against Stephen Strasburg (3-5) of the Nationals. Also, to bring Wood up from the minors, the Braves designated Juan Francisco for assignment. They have ten days to try and trade him for something in return, otherwise Francisco would most likely refuse an assignment to the minors and would elect free agency.

Mike Minor throws a pitch against the Blue Jays on Thursday night, he picked up his seventh win of the year in the 11-3 victory.
