Today will start the beginning of the Falcons' recaps over the defense, starting with the defensive lineman. John Abraham will be the first lineman covered today.
Abraham is a thirteen-year veteran out of South Carolina. He began his career with the New York Jets and was brought to the Falcons in a trade back in 2006. Since coming to Atlanta, he has been the Falcons best pass rusher each year, including a career-high 16.5 sacks back in 2008. Once again in 2012, Abraham had another solid year, recording 36 tackles and ten sacks, which made him the team leader in that category.
Abraham should be with the Falcons again next season. The only way he would leave is if the Falcons release him to free up cap space. If he is around, he will once again be the leader on the defensive line. The Falcons also need to be careful though, as he is getting older and becoming more prone to injuries.
