The Pacers were down after one quarter, but took over in the second quarter and went on to lead it the rest of the way. Paul George had a huge game for Indiana, hitting five 3-pointers and leading the team with 29 points. David West and George Hill each added fifteen points, Lance Stephenson scored fourteen, Roy Hibbert and Ian Mahinmi each had twelve and D.J. Augustin had ten to give the Pacers seven players with double-figures in points. The Pacers, who have won their last four games, are now 30-19 on the season.
The Hawks kept it close for three of the quarters in the game, but the third quarter doomed them this night. They were outscored by the Pacers 31-21 and never came back. Jeff Teague, who grew up in Indiana, led the Hawks with 24 points. He was one of five Hawks to score in double-figures in the loss.
Al Horford was next, he scored fifteen points, rookie John Jenkins had fourteen points as he got to the free throw line ten times and hit nine of his shots. Kyle Korver added ten points, as well as little used reserve Johan Petro, who hit four of his six shots. Josh Smith led the team with ten rebounds, but had a miserable night shooting as he hit only four of his twelve shots for nine points. Devin Harris, Anthony Morrow and Zaza Pachulia all missed the game with various injuries.
The Hawks have now lost their past two games and are 26-21 on the season. They will return home tomorrow night to take on the Memphis Grizzlies at Philips Arena. The game will be at 7:30 p.m. The Grizzlies lost their last game, but are 30-17 on the year.
Jeff Teague takes a shot against the Pacers, Teague scored 24 points in the on Tuesday night, which was also Hardwood Classics night with throwback jerseys.
