Braves Defeat Miami

The Atlanta Braves started their road trip in a good way on Monday night. They got great pitching and shutout the Marlins 2-0.
The Braves' offense had ten hits but only managed the two runs. Justin Upton had a perfect night. He collected four hits including a double and his sixth home run of the year. Dan Uggla knocked in the other run for the Braves on a ground out. Chris Johnson had three hits for the Braves, Juan Francisco had two and Evan Gattis added a hit.
Paul Maholm had a great night, he pitched seven innings and gave up one hit while striking out seven Marlins' batters. He picked up the win and is now 2-0 on the year. Eric O'Flaherty pitched a perfect eighth inning for Atlanta and Craig Kimbrel got out of a minor jam in the ninth and earned his third save of the season.
The Braves are now 6-1 on the year and will play game two of their three-game series with the Marlins tomorrow night at 7:10 p.m. Kris Medlen (0-1) will make the start for the Braves against Marlins' lefty Wade LeBlanc (0-1).

Paul Maholm pitched seven innings and gave up only one hit while picking up his second victory of the year in the Braves' 2-0 win over the Marlins.
